WELCOME TO TOMASSI'S!
Tomassi's is a new Drama and Theatre School in Newquay Cornwall. It also incorporates a Talent Agency called Tomassi's Talent Agency - South West.
We opened the doors to our Theatre School in Newquay at the end of February 2008.
It was the first time a properly-structured non-franchised theatre school had been launched in Cornwall.
The story started when Mandy Tomassi founded Tomassi’s Theatre School when her four children wanted to go to a local Theatre School to get Singing Lessons, Dance Lessons and Drama Lessons. “Obviously I wanted everything: high quality tuition with a small classes and an individual approach to quality learning at a reasonable price!”
"All I could find was a giant PLC company, like the Stagecoach Theatre Arts plc - a school franchise from upcountry with over 700 theatre schools."
“So with my experience from the West End Shows I knew I could be the Principal who oversees the children who want to learn to Sing, learn to Dance & learn to Act.”
“I employ three Experts: a Singing Teacher, a Dancing Teacher and a Drama Teacher, who teach small classes with an allocated adult to act as chaperone for extra support and safety.”
Tomassi’s uses three venues: Dancing lessons at the purpose built Dance Studio at Yoshimi Spa Newquay, Singing Classes in an acoustically designed venue and Drama Classes with access to a stage. After two successful shows in Cornwall, a Christmas Pantomime and a Stage Review, we are producing another show for Cornwall highlighting the student achievements this summer, details to be announced soon.
Tomassi’s is a one off local Cornish Stage School being run for the children of Cornwall using the best local talent available. Mandy Davies, Director says: “We are the one and only Tomassi’s Theatre School and you can see me each week”
